CHICKASHA — The University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma is celebrating a significant achievement with fall 2024 enrollment numbers surpassing the 1,000-student mark for the first time since 2011. With a campus headcount of more than 1,000 students, this milestone marks a nearly 11 percent increase from last fall.
“I am thrilled to see such a significant increase in our fall 2024 enrollment during my first year as president,” said President Kayla Hale. “This is a testament to the strong commitment of our faculty, staff and students to the unique educational experience we offer. It’s an exciting time to be a part of USAO, and I look forward to building on this momentum as we continue to provide a transformative educational experience.”
In addition to the increase in overall enrollment, full-time equivalent enrollment increased 8.4 percent from last fall.
This year’s freshman class showcases USAO’s commitment to academic excellence and diversity. Native American students make up 17.2 percent of the freshman class, while Hispanic students represent 11.4 percent. Additionally, 30 percent of the freshman class are first-generation college students. The academic caliber of the class remains impressive, with an average GPA of 3.53.
This past year, USAO increased its recruiting efforts to get students enrolled while still attending high school, leading to a 600% increase in concurrent enrollment.
As USAO continues to attract students from diverse backgrounds, the university remains committed to its mission of providing a personalized, student-centered learning environment. Small class sizes, individualized instruction, and hands-on learning opportunities make USAO a prime destination for those seeking a transformative educational experience.
