Three-vehicle accident near Tuttle kills Yukon man

A Yukon man died after a three-vehicle collision at 10:56 a.m. Saturday, May 3, about 1.5 miles south of Tuttle in Grady County.
Frank Kuykendall, 75, was pronounced dead by medical staff at Integris Baptist in Oklahoma City.. He was driving a 2024 Toyota Rav4.
Also involved in the accident was a 2022 Nissan Armada driven by Jonathan Shaffer, 26, of Edmond. He was transported to Integris Baptist by McClain-Grady EMS where he was treated and released. Shaffer’s vehicle included four passengers, three of them children. The three children, ages 5, 2 and an infant, were all transported to Integris Baptist by Grady EMS where they were treated and released.
Katherine Shinn-Landis Shaffer, 26, of Edmond, the other adult in the Nissan, was transported by Tuttle EMS to Integris Baptist. She was treated and released.
Waymon Julious, 63, of Jonesboro, Georgia, was driving a 2024 Freightliner TT. He was transported to St. Anthony’s in Mustang by McClain-Grady EMS where he was treated and released.
What happened and what caused the accident were listed as still under investigation. The report filed by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol noted that the condition of all three drivers was still under investigation as well.
The accident occurred on S Mustang Road / County Road 1210, approximately 1.5 miles south of Tuttle.
Seatbelts were equipped and in use by all three drivers.
Weather was not considered a factor in the accident on the undivided, two-lane asphalt roadway. None of the passengers or drivers were pinned or ejected from the vehicles.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Ryan Hayes of the Traffic Homicide Unit.
OK-4 and 1210 Road, where the accident took place, were closed from 11 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. for a total of 4 hours and 45 minutes.
