A Gracemont man lost his life in a one-vehicle roll-over crash south of Calumet on Thursday, February 1 according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
A 2012 Jeep Wrangler driven by Cody R. Herrmann, 39 of Gracemont, was traveling southbound on Ranch Road approximately 14 miles south of Calumet when his vehicle departed the roadway to the right. The driver then swerved back onto roadway and departed roadway to the left. The driver then over corrected resulting in vehicle overturning 1 3/4 time departing roadway to the right coming to rest on driver side facing west. Herrmann was ejected approximately 60 feet south and 23 feet west of the vehicle’s point of impact. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Medic West EMS from injuries sustained in the collision. He was transported by Alpha and Omega Mortuary Service to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City, OK.
The cause of the incident which happened shortly before noon was listed as Fail to Maintain Single Lane of Travel and investigated by Trooper Gilmore #584 of the Canadian County Detachment of Troop A.
