Chickasha Hosts Wings & Wheels Airshow & Car Show on Saturday, June 3

Annual event features an airshow, car show and free family fun

CHICKASHA, Okla. – May 15, 2023 –The annual Wings & Wheels Airshow & Car Show returns to the Chickasha Municipal Airport on Saturday, June 3, 2023. This year’s event will feature aerobatic performances by Kyle Franklin of Franklin’s Flying Circus, Mike “Spanky” Gallaway, the Falcon Flight Formation Team, the Lone Star Jet Team, Leland Kracher and Jeremy Holt.

Guests will have the opportunity to take photos with airplanes, check out classic cars, watch a Short Takeoff or Landing (STOL) demonstration, and enjoy food from local food trucks. There is no cost for parking or entry.

For young aviation enthusiasts, local EAA volunteers will offer free Young Eagles flights for children ages 8-17. Registration for these free flights will begin at 8 a.m. and space is limited. 

Car show registration will be from 8 to 10:30 a.m., and there is no entry fee. First and Second Place car show awards will be given for 1950’s and earlier, 1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s, 1990’s, and 2000’s and later, along with Best Paint and Best in Show. The awards presentation will be at 11:30 a.m. 

The STOL demonstration will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the airshow performances at noon.

Wings & Wheels attendees are encouraged to bring sunscreen and lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. Water will be available for free. No weapons, alcohol or coolers are allowed to be brought in the event. 

The Chickasha Municipal Airport, located at 2344 Beechcraft Road, is approximately 2 miles north of Chickasha off Highway 81. Last year, more than 5,500 people enjoyed a day of free, family-friendly fun at this event. For more information, please visit www.chickasha.org/wings
