A reader writes: “Thank you for the opportunity to share something “good” in our community. Many people perform “good” deeds, but they are very covert. Most never tell about their acts of kindness. I remember a time that Abby LaForge knocked on my classroom door at Grand Elementary. She asked to speak to me in the hallway. She whispered that her daughter had told her about a classmate who had holes in the bottom of her shoes. Abby asked if it would be possible to trace around the little girl’s shoes so that she could purchase some shoes for the child. Very soon Abby returned with two pairs of new shoes for the child. “Abby also informed me that at that time the Jr. Social Workers had “Remarkable Shop” on Chickasha Ave. and that the child’s parent could take the child for two outfits free of charge. “The Remarkable Shop” is no longer in service, but the Jr. Social Workers continue to provide wonderful
support for our community in many ways.” (Glenda Crump)
Thank you Abby and Steve LaForge and thank you Junior Social Workers for making Chickasha a more wonderful place.
