Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 31, 2021 at the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha, OK. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Loretta Gayle (Love) Cavin, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 86. She was born March 29, 1935 in Chickasha, OK to Clifford Love and Lora (Allsup) Barnett.

Loretta grew up in Chickasha, until her parents who were migrant workers during the depression moved out to California where she lived until eventually moving back to Chickasha where she met her husband, Donald Cavin, they married in 1953. She attended OCW for a year before going up to OU where she finished her degree. During that time in school she had two boys, Wendell and Wade Cavin. After she graduated from OU she became a high school teacher in Oklahoma City, OK where she worked for a while until they moved to Houston, Texas in 1973 where she continued to teach. She remained in Houston as a teacher until Loretta and Donald retired in 1995 when they moved back to Oklahoma City. Loretta was a member of Village Baptist Church in the Oklahoma City area.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Love and Lora (Allsup) Barnett; husband, Donald Cavin; son, Wendell Cavin.

Loretta is survived by her son, Wade Cavin and wife, Nancy Thompson of Portland, Oregon; daughter-in-law, Sallie Cavin of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Lee Cavin and wife, Danielle of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lauren Whitney and husband, Blake of Dallas, Texas; great-grandchildren: Parker, Elliot, Max, and Winnie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
