Chickasha City Manager Keith Johnson is stepping down. Johnson, who has spent the last two years as city manager, has accepted a position with a Benton County government office in southeastern Washington state. Johnson said he will finish out the calendar year with the city and start his new job after the first of the year.
The city council had just approved a raise for Johnson but he said his new employer made a generous offer he couldn’t turn down. Mayor Zach Grayson said Johnson is a great leader and will be missed.
Grayson said the search for a new city manager will begin soon and will recommend the council use the same head-hunting firm that lead to Johnson’s hiring.
