Arvest Foundations awards $5,000 grant to Grady County

CHICKASHA – Arvest Bank associates recently announced a $5,000 grant to the Grady County Emergency Management Agency to assist in the purchase of trauma kits for Chickasha public schools.
The grant will help the agency supply trauma kits for every classroom in Chickasha K-12 schools.
In June, Grady County Emergency Management and City of Chickasha Emergency Management collaborated with local public school superintendents announced the “Stop the Bleed” initiative to provide every classroom and common area with life-saving trauma kits that help provide first aid resources to teachers and students.
Arvest associates recently joined Community Bank President Karene Sandra in presenting the check on behalf of the Arvest Foundation to Grady County Emergency Management Director Dale Thompson and City of Chickasha Emergency Management Director Edward Perez.
“We know that every second counts in the event of a traumatic injury, and we are happy the Arvest Foundation chose to support this initiative to help provide our public schools the resources they need in an emergency,” said Sandra.
The trauma kits will include tourniquets, blood coagulating bandages, gloves, CPR mask and other medical items stored inside a red trauma kit bag.
“I want to express our heartfelt thanks to the Arvest Foundation for their generous donation to our Enhanced School Safety Project,” said Perez. “Their support not only helps us prepare for emergencies but also shows their deep commitment to the safety and well-being of our students and educators. We’re truly grateful for their partnership in making our schools and community safer.”
Thompson added, “Speaking for the schools, students, staff of all the schools in Grady County and for Grady County Emergency Management, I want to express our sincere thanks to the Arvest Foundation. This contribution will make a real difference in our efforts to place trauma kits in every classroom across Grady County, Oklahoma.”
