Thomas L. Harris

A funeral service for Thomas L. Harris, 68, of Chickasha, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in the Cement School Auditorium with Keith Remy officiating.

Thomas Lindsey Harris was born November 14th, 1955 to Delmar James Harris and Alice Ruth Jackson Harris in Chickasha, Oklahoma. The Lord called him home on September 6th, 2024 at his home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Tommy grew up in Cement Oklahoma where he joined the United States Marines at a young age. After serving his country Tommy returned home to Cement where he made his life in the Oilfields. Tommy had a special talent for Oilfield work, hard work where he worked 7 days a week 365 days a year for many years finally paid off as he built an Oilfield Empire to any man would be proud of.

On July 24th, 1986 he married the love of his life Amanda Dawn Richardson in Chickasha, Oklahoma. At the time of his death, he and Amanda had just celebrated 38 years together.

Tommy was not only proud of his business but his beautiful family. This family included 7 children.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents Delmar and Alice Harris, in-laws Billy and Sally Richardson, and a brother-in-law Chris Richardson.

Survivors include his wife Amanda of the home; two sons Rodney Swarts and wife Monica of Chickasha and Memphis Harris of the home; five daughters Candy Knight and husband Stacy, Ellie Harris, Ragan Shepard, and husband Devan, all of Chickasha, Alivia, and Mazie Harris of the home; brothers Randy Brasee of Norman, Rob Trisel of Ohio, Timmy Harris and wife Bonita, Johnny Harris and wife Carla Harris, all of Chickasha; sisters-in-Law Cindie Sales and husband Nicky of Chickasha, Shelly Richardson, Sarah and husband Guy Jimenez of Cement, and Lora and husband Mike Heilaman of Apache; grandchildren Kallie and Mason Smith of Cement, Mariah Garcia of Oklahoma City, Alayna and Josh Snyder of Chickasha,  Jaxon Jimenez of Cement, Tempi Knight, Evelyn Harris, and Sophie Shepard, all of Chickasha; great-grandchildren Breckley and Mattie Smith and Scharolotte Richardson of Cement; one lifelong friend Jimmy Chaney of Cement; many step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, and friends.

A viewing for Tommy will be held Monday, September 9th at Ferguson Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, east of Cement, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
