Steve Hugh Burton Sr.
The Memorial Service for Steve Hugh Burton, Sr. will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Southern Baptist Church of Alex, OK at 10:00 a.m. under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
Steve passed from this life on August 24, 2024, in his home in Alex, OK surrounded by his family at the age of 64. He was born on July 6, 1960, in Chickasha, OK to Durl Ray Burton and Loretta Mae Burton.
He grew up in the Alex and Ft. Cobb communities. He graduated from Alex High School in 1978. His love for school was basketball. After high school, he went to work in the oilfield as a Driller. He also worked for Braum’s driving a truck. His true passion was Farming, which he thought about 24 hours a day 7 days a week. He farmed off and on since high school.
Steve met the love of his life in high school, Robin Cantrell Burton. They married on September 10, 1987, and had two children, Ashley Jo Foster and Steven Burton, Jr.
He worked and lived in the Alex area his entire life.
Steve enjoyed riding anything that went fast. He enjoyed working on hot rods and driving them everywhere. He also loved driving four-wheelers and motorcycles. He especially loved raising cattle, farming, and ranching.
One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandkids and family. What he was most proud of was knowing Jesus, being saved, and being baptized.
Steve will be missed and is loved dearly. After fighting hard, he is now with his Lord and is no longer in pain. He is a brand new man.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Mae Burton; his father-in-law, Bob Cantrell; his grandparents, Hugh and Viola Burton, and Everett and Xelpho Cox.
Steve is survived by his wife, Robin Burton; his children, Ashley Jo Foster and her husband, Garrett, and Steven Hugh Burton, Jr. and his wife, Sheri; his grandchildren, Zane Burton, Emmy Foster, Creed Foster, Briggs Burton, and Sloane Kayt Foster; as well as, numerous other families.
