Vance Richard Davis was born on January 1, 1936, in Mountain View, Oklahoma, to Claud Davis and Laura Mae (Cook) Davis. He passed from this life on August 13, 2024, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, at the age of 88.

Richard spent his childhood years in the Cowden Community. He was raised on the family farm, where they grew Wheat and Cotton. Richard married Flo Davis on August 12, 1955, in Wethersfield, Connecticut; the two would call this home for five years. In 1960, Richard moved his family to the Broxton area outside of Fort Cobb, where he built their forever home.

Richard spent twenty-five years as a heavy equipment operator for Dolese and twenty-five years as a maintenance supervisor for Gabriel Ride Control. In his free time, Richard loved to go fishing and hunting. He enjoyed tinkering on various projects and farm equipment.

Left to cherish the memory of Richard are his wife, Flo Davis of Fort Cobb, sons, Bruce Davis and Cynthia of Cartwright, Oklahoma, Michael Davis and wife Melissa of Bells, Texas, daughter, Michele Kliensorge and husband Mike of Fletcher, Oklahoma, sister, Barbara Pinkston of Reno, Nevada, six grandchildren, Daniel Kliensorge, Presley Kliensorge, Kristin Davis, Morgan Davis, Madison Gibson, and Gabriel Gibson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Laura Davis, son, Keith Davis, brothers, JC Davis, Edward Davis, and James “Red” Davis, and sister, Josie Mclemor and Patsy Ladd.

Visitation for Richard was held from 1:00 – 6:00 PM on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the Fort Cobb Funeral Home Chapel.

A Graveside Service for Richard was at 10:00 A.M., on Monday, August 19, 2024, at the Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain View, Oklahoma.

Services were under the direction of Fort Cobb Funeral Home in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma.
