Gerald Coleman was born in Caddo County, OK, on March 17, 1938, to Walter & Elizabeth Coleman. He graduated from Anadarko High School in May of 1956 and during his Jr. & Sr. years in high school, also served in the National Guard. Upon graduation, Gerald enlisted in the Navy on a 4 -year term and was stationed out of Moffett Field CA serving on 2 cruises aboard the USS Lexington as a Naval Air mechanic. While home on leave Gerald met and married Naomi Winn Coleman on Sept. 4, 1957, and took her back to California with him as he served in the U S Navy. They have 4 children, Crystal, Carmel, Rob, and Richard. Upon completion of his naval duties, he worked for Watershed Research for 32 years and retired in June of 1994 after which he enjoyed hobby farming & ranching on his 20 acres north of Chickasha. He loved to garden and raise his beef for the dinner table. He was a member of the College Heights Baptist Church in Chickasha where he served as a Deacon and retired as Deacon Emeritus.
Gerald is survived by Naomi Coleman of the home, all four of his children, six of his grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, church family, and friends.
Services were held at College Heights Baptist Church, Chickasha, OK on Wed. Aug. 21, 2024, at 2 p.m. Instead of flowers, please make donations payable to the Restoring the Glory project for the College Heights Baptist Church.
