The City of Chickasha is extending an invitation for all residents to actively participate in the development of the Onward Chickasha Future Land Use Map (FLUM).The three FLUM alternatives are available for comment in-person at City Hall and the Public Library; these activities are available for use at any time during the library and City Hall’s respective hours of operation. You can also access the FLUM mapping activity online by visiting OnwardChickasha.org and scrolling to “Future Land Use Scenario Planning.” The online version is available 24/7 and does not require an account to participate.
The FLUM alternatives, which will be available for comment until Feb. 9, provide an opportunity for residents to voice their preferences for where different types of development should be located, as well as where and how the city should grow. By reviewing the options and leaving comments about what they like and don’t like about each alternative, residents help build a collective vision that will shape Chickasha’s built environment over the next 25 years. All comments will be utilized to develop a preferred final FLUM based on the alternatives and community feedback.
Online and In-Person
Engagement is made easy through OnwardChickasha.org, where residents can participate in the FLUM activity and other engagement opportunities at their own convenience. For those who prefer in-person participation, hard copies of the FLUM alternatives are available for comment at the Public Library and City Hall.
