USA Today Names Festival of Light Second in Nation

To find the most festive displays, USA TODAY 10 Best editors and experts combed the nation for the brightest and most beautiful holiday light shows put on by neighborhoods, cities, and parks. Then, readers voted for their favorites. The Festival of Light – Chickasha, Oklahoma was selected as the number two show in the nation.
In its 31st year the “Chickasha Festival of Light is all about superlatives, from more than 3.5 million twinkling lights on displays and trees around Shannon Springs Park, to a 170-foot-tall Christmas tree shining brightly over the town, it is no surprise that more than 250,000 visitors come from around the world to check out this glorious light show each year,” said USA Today editors.
Wise men on oversize camels point the way to nativity and other religious displays to set the theme for the show. Many secular displays add to the merriment of the season.
From walking the pathway around Shannon Springs Lake to driving the park road, to taking a carriage ride through the festive displays, to light and music shows the Festival of Light is a sensory delight for young and old. Walking across the lake under the crystal bridge is a mesmerizing experience, Ferris wheel, food trucks, a gift shop, carnival rides and ice-skating rink make for one very merry holiday visit.
The best part, admission is free. For those who choose, donations are accepted to help fund the next festival.
