Two arrested in Chickasha double homicide case 


According to a press release from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, in a tragic case that has unfolded over several months, two suspects have been charged in connection with the double homicide of 37-year-old Ashley Cannon and her unborn child.
 According to the press release, the incident dates back to November 30, 2020, when Ashley Cannon, who was 36 weeks pregnant, was discovered deceased in her residence at the Virginia Street Apartments in Chickasha.
 The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) was called in to aid local authorities in the investigation, they diligently worked to track down those responsible for the heinous crime.
 On August 29, 2023, OSBI special agents presented the fruits of their investigation to the Grady County District Attorney’s Office.
 Subsequently, on November 8, the Grady County District Attorney filed two counts of First-Degree Murder against 37-year-old Kenneth Lee Johnson, citing his alleged involvement in the deaths of Ashley Cannon and her unborn child.
 Additionally, charges were levied against Johnson’s wife, 39-year-old Katrina Johnson, for Accessory to Murder in the First Degree.
 At this time, Kenneth Lee Johnson is in custody at the Lawton Correctional Facility, serving time on a prior charge, Katrina Johnson was apprehended in Oklahoma City and is awaiting extradition back to Grady County, according to the press release.
 The OSBI expressed gratitude to multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Grady County District Attorney’s Office, Chickasha Police Department, Lawton Police Department, McAlester Police Department, Oklahoma City Police Department, and the Edmond Police Department.
