The Chickasha Community Theatre will be producing the play “The Shawshank Redemption” by O’Neill and Johns at the historic Washita Theatre in downtown Chickasha.
The production is offered on Friday and Saturday August 25-26 at 7:30 pm and a Sunday Matinee at 2 pm on the 27th.
First a classic novel, then an award winning movie, now a smash hit play. Adapted for stage by Owen O’Neill and Dave Johns based on the Novella Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption by Stephen King.
This drama follows Andy Dufresne that is convicted of murder and sentenced to life in the notorious Shawshank penitentiary from 1951-1970, where he must find a way to keep himself and his hope alive by using his wits and forging friendships.
Advance tickets are available online at www.chicakshatheatre.org or at Jays Jewelry in downtown Chickasha. The box office will be open one hour prior to showtime for same day ticket purchases. Tickets are $14 or $8 with student id.
This production contains adult language, violence and adult situations. Anyone under 18 should be accompanied by an adult.
