OBITUARIES

Seth Russell Hoover …

Seth Russell Hoover was born on February 1, 1994, in Garden City, KS, to David Sr. and Vickie (McGuffin) Hoover. He unexpectedly left us to be with Jesus on July 9, 2023. His funeral service was held Friday, July 14, 2023, at Laverty Baptist Church in Cement, OK. Committal service was at Laverty Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
Seth and his family later moved to Fredonia, KS, where Seth began his education. At the age of nine, he moved to Cement, OK near Lake Burtschi, with his mother & siblings. This was “Home” for the greater part of his life. He, with his family and numerous friends, spent many hours there exploring, fishing, and hunting.
Seth was a member of Laverty Baptist Church, spending many summers at Falls Creek. He was saved and baptized on May 11, 2003.
He attended Pioneer School in Norge, OK, and High School in Chickasha, OK before moving back to Fredonia, KS with his father where he concluded his education with some college classes at Independence (KS) Community College.
Seth’s siblings were his first best friends as a child. Wherever one went, they all went, but he also always had at least one other best friend at the house any time he could. He always enjoyed doing puzzles and completed several while spending special time with loved ones.
As an adult, Seth worked in many different industries, and made many life-long friends, doing renovation/construction and on a hog farm with his father, in the oilfield and moving rigs, as a CDL driver and commercial crane operator, in renewable energy on wind turbines, and as a semi-truck driver for Braums until his death.
Seth had the most caring personality; he was always willing to lend a helping hand, and would give the shirt off of his back to anyone that needed it. When he smiled, people couldn’t help but smile, too. That smile lit up the room. Seth made a lasting impression on everyone he met, and he will be greatly missed by his friends and his family.
Seth enjoyed all sports as a kid, and he loved hunting, fishing, and anything that let him be outdoors for his entire life.
His greatest blessing was his daughter, Oaklyn Ruth Hoover. She was born on July 26, 2020; he enjoyed every moment with Oaklyn; she truly changed his life, and he loved being the best father possible to her.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Harry Hoover.
