A train derailment in Marlow on Sunday, June 4 at approximately 12:30 pm, left at least 3 major crossing blocked in the town.
No one was injured when seven loaded rail cars left the tracks and folded like dominoes according to one eyewitness.
The tracks have since been cleared by Union Pacific, the train operator, new rail, crossties and bedding base have all been updated, the wrecked cars off the tracks and rail service has been restored.
The loaded rail cars were still on the side of the tracks as of late last week. The picture on the left is a car loaded with flour on its side. Other cargo included wheat and frac sand according to reports. No hazardous or toxic chemicals were spilled in the accident. The picture on the right shows the new track in place.
It was not known when the damaged rail cars might be removed.
