A thirteen year old girl from Apache died when the vehicle she was a passenger in collided with a building in Sayre.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the vehicle, a 2001 GMC Yukon was being driven by a fifteen year old female of Apache.
According to the OHP report the early Sunday morning collision happened when the vehicle was being pursued by the Cordell and Sayre Police.
The vehicle was traveling west bound on OK-152 at a high rate of speed while entering the city limits of Sayre when the driver lost control, departed the roadway to the right, and collided with a building. The Thirteen year old passenger was pinned in the vehicle for approximately 30 minutes before being freed by Sayre Fire Department using the T-N-T Tool.
The incident happened during rainey conditions, the cause of the collision and the condition of the driver is under investigation.
The incident is being investigated by Trooper Trent Cagle #380 of the Traffic Homicide Unit. Assisted by Trooper Brandon Bussey #690 of the Beckham County Detachment of Troop H, Beckham County Sheriff’s Office, Washita County Sheriff’s Office, Sayre Police Department, Cordell Police Department, Apache Police Department, Sayre Fire Department, and Sinor EMS.
