A meeting is set for Monday, October 24th to help establish a Grady County Veterans Center at 6th and Chickasha Avenue in Chickasha to office veteran services and outreach programs.
Currently the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and the Oklahoma Department of Veteran Affairs have offices in the building that formerly housed the Chickasha Police Department and a Fire Department Station.
This Center will be the hub for many activities supporting veterans and their families. Service officers are available to help answer questions about claims and to help file claims. However, there are other needs for veterans – food, clothing, housing, medical issues, the list goes on.
The 6:00 pm meeting is open to anyone who is willing to help make the Veterans Center a reality for area former military personel.
