Wheat Field Day Set for April 29th in Chickasha


 The Oklahoma State University South Central Research Station will be hosting a Wheat Field Day on Friday, April 29th at 9 am.
The schedule is:
• 9:00 AM: Weed management in wheat (1 CEU Credit);
Josh Bushong, Area Extension Agronomist; Dr. Misha Manuchehri, Extension Specialist for Small Grains and Canola Weed Science
• 10:00 AM: Wheat varieties;
Dr. Amanda Silva, Small Grains Extension Specialist
• 10:40 AM: Wheat Breeding
Dr. Brett Carver, Wheat Breeder
• 11:20 AM: Nutrient Management
Dr. Brian Arnall, Precision Nutrient Management Extension Specialist
• 12:00 PM: Lunch sponsored by AgCredit
 All the grow wheat for grain as well as forage for livestock growers are encouraged to attend.
 According to the National Agriculture Statistics Service, Grady County in 2020 produced 1,026,000 bushels of wheat with an average of 35 bushels per acre on 29,300 acres.
