Linda Arlene Medlin, was born Thursday, May 25, 1939 in Ninnekah, to Harvey William and Jewel Lorene (Merritt) Long. At the age of 82, she passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 in Marlow.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Linda was a graduate of Rush Springs High School and lived there all of her life.
Linda married her soul mate, John Wesley Medlin in Rush Springs, March 12, 1973, and they celebrated 19 wonderful years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 1992.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rush Springs and she was a faithful volunteer of the Rush Springs Nutrition Center for 17 years. Linda enjoyed reading (especially her Bible), eating, and working crossword puzzles. She loved her flowers on her patio, and took great pride in caring for them and enjoyed working in her flower beds. Linda also enjoyed watching Western movies on the TV when she could. She will be missed by many.
Survivors include, 2 sons, James Hammonds and Russ Hamilton of Rush Springs, and Wesley Medlin and wife Becky of Fletcher, daughter, Edie Schmahl and husband Curt of Corn, 2 grandsons, a great-granddaughter, a nephew, her longtime and dear friend, Bud Roberts of Rush Springs, and her grand pups, Valentine and Sophie.
Linda was preceded in death by father, Harvey William Long, mother, Jewel Lorene Merritt, brother, Jimmy Joe Long, brother, Freddy Huel Long, and son-in-law, Warren Kerr.
