Paul Alan Savage was born July 16, 1954, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Paul was the third of six children born to Bob and Clara Savage. Suffering a fatal heart attack, Paul received his wings on December 12, 2021, in Mustang, Oklahoma, at the age of 67 years.
Paul grew up in the Amber and Pocasset areas, graduating from Amber-Pocasset High School in 1972. The middle boy in a farm family, Paul was often in the thick of whatever excitement was around, or that could be stirred up.
Paul married Brenda Vanbuskirk on December 14, 1972, and to this union two children were born, Lynn Alan Savage and Jason Paul Savage. Paul married Tara Oxford on June 6, 1998, at Friendship Methodist Church.
Paul worked oilfields for many years, including several years spent on rigs in Colombia, South America. He lived in Chickasha, Verden, Tyler, TX, Houston, TX and on the family farm near Pocasset before settling southwest of Minco, where he resided since 1984.
Paul enjoyed auctions, garage sales, and collecting what many deemed as “junk.” He always enjoyed showing everyone the treasure he had found.
Paul loved everyone he met and never met a stranger. A friend to many, a brother to some, a father to few. If you were hungry, he fed you, if you were thirsty, you got a drink from him. You could not ever leave his house without taking something he gave you from his treasure pile. Paul taught his sons how to work till exhaustion then work some more.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, Bob and Clara Savage.
Left to cherish their memories of Paul are his sons, Lynn and Kelly Savage of Kingston, OK, and Jason and Denise Savage of Yukon, OK, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three sisters: Pat and Richard Jenkins, Bobbi Taylor, Peggy and Jake Eiss, two brothers, Mike and Deonn Savage and Lee and Cindy Savage, and a host of friends acquired throughout his journey on this earth.
A memorial service for Paul will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. at Friendship Methodist Church, Grady County, Oklahoma. Following the memorial service, Paul’s cremains will be interred in Friendship Cemetery, Grady County, Oklahoma.
