Meddie Buchanan


 Meddie Buchanan, 79, Anadarko, OK known as Duke to family and friends, was born on May 24, 1942, to Mary Sue and Calvin Edward Buchanan. He passed from this life on August 22, 2021, in Chickasha, OK.
 He was the eldest of 10 children.
 At the age of 17, Meddie joined the Marines. Over the years, he served in Vietnam and while in the service, he completed his education.
 Meddie was a hard worker and worked for numerous employers before falling ill.
 In 1992, he married his wife of 29 years, Debra Lawrence. Of that union, one child was born: Zella Buchanan.
 Meddie had several interests. He loved working on cars, basketball, Dallas Cowboys, and watching westerns on television.
 Meddie leaves behind: his wife, Debra Buchanan of the home; Daughters: Narcissa & husband, Teddy Hightower, Anadarko, OK, Gladys Buchanan & husband, Bryan Lamothe, Hobart, OK, Corrina Kauley, Tulsa, OK, Zella Buchanan, Anadarko, OK; Brothers: Tommy Buchanan, OKC, OK; Nathan & wife, Barbara Buchanan, Benbrook, TX; Edward & wife, Cherry Buchanan, Fort Cobb, OK; Sisters: Betty Ingram, OKC, OK; Mary Taylor, OKC, OK; Willie Mae Elizondo, Nebraska; Urana & husband, Eugene, Clinton, OK; 13 Grandchildren; Numerous great-grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews.
 He is preceded in death: mother, Mary Susan Buchanan; father Calvin Edward Buchanan; brother, Anthony Ray Buchanan; sister Gloria Jean Buchanan
 Funeral servuces were Friday August 27, 2021at
Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home Chapel, Anadarko, OK followed by graveside at Memory Lane Cemetery.
