Viola Faye Pippins was born August 16th, 1931. She passed away peacefully in her favorite recliner after enjoying breakfast. Although Alzheimer’s took her away most of the time, she always enjoyed a good meal, literally to the end. She passed away peacefully in the arms of her granddaughter at 6:38 a.m. on August 5th, 2021.
In Viola’s words: Remembrance to my children and grandchildren: I’m so glad I was born in a large family. We worked hard, helped each other, and never felt we could not make it. We were honest, and proud to be part of a great land of Oklahoma and The United States. We appreciated our parents. Most of all we believed in God. If nothing else in this life, put Jesus at the head of your life and your families will do better. If you have all the money in the world it will not bring peace or love.
Viola will be remembered for eating ramen with tomato sauce and calling it spaghetti, wearing glasses even though she had Lasik and 20/20 vision, telling stories about growing up on the farm, picking cotton, and living through the great depression and the dust bowl. She loved the Lord and she loved children, and she had the gift of gab.
Viola was preceded in death by her Husband, JC Willis Pippins, parents, brothers and sisters, Ollis, Edith, Ray, Cleo, Robert, Clifford, Norman, Merle, Dean, Mae, Inez, Howard, and Richard.
She is survived by her son, Timothy Dale; daughter, Pamela Kaye, 5 granddaughters, 2 great-grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.
Viola, mom, and grandma – you will be dearly missed.
