As of January 17th there are 354,979 cases of COVID-19 in Oklahoma with 40,109 active cases reported.
The Health Department is reporting that 169,411 prime doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been given and 28,409 individuals have received their second round of immunization.
In the past week two deaths in Grady County, both males in the 65 years of age and older category because of the virus according to OSHD. 26 deaths have been charted in Chickasha since the pandemic began in March 2020.
Grady County has reported 4,817 cases, 4,292 recovered cases and 44 deaths. Currently there are less than 500 active cases reported in the county. Grady County is rated 14th in the State with infections.
Caddo County has reported 3,301 cases, 2,904 recovered cases and 42 deaths. 16 deaths have been reported from Anadarko.
Those who have not been inoculated and received the vaccine are urged to go to www.vaccinateOklahoma.gov to sign up. According to the OSDH only scheduled appointments are take, that there are no walk-ins. For those who do not have internet access, call 211 for more help.
According to the OSDH, here is what to expect when you register to receive the vaccine:
Vaccine appointments are for Oklahoma residents only. If you are not an Oklahoma resident expect to be turned away.
• Fill out a short questionnaire.
If you’re eligible in the current vaccine phase, you’ll be able to schedule your vaccine, pending supply and appointment availability.
If you’re not eligible, you’ll receive an email when your phase is ready for vaccinations.
Where we are now
Current priority groups that are eligible for vaccine appointments as part of Phase 2 of the vaccine distribution plan are:
• Healthcare workers including expanded healthcare worker groups such as allied health fields and general outpatient health service (i.e. behavioral health, dentists)
• First responders
• Oklahomans age 65+
We are actively monitoring the phase progress for our statewide vaccine distribution plan and will update all of our communications accordingly when we have added additional phases/priority groups. Though you are welcome to register via this portal, we recommend waiting until you have confirmation your priority group is being served. This will help ensure you receive both timely and accurate email communication specific to your vaccine appointment.
