Ross Seed True Value Holiday Open House Thursday

Ross Seed True Value on Choctaw Avenue started an event 22 years ago that has become a tradition. Ross Seed True Value was seeking a way to kick off the holiday season with some kind of event, when Paul Horton, the manager at Ross’s decided to have a holiday open house and customer appreciation event.
“Our customers have been good to us,” said Horton. “Customers have kept this store in business for over 100 years. We needed to let them know we do appreciate their continued patronage.”
Horton went on to say that this year has had it’s challenges and hopefully the red and green of Christmas will bring some joy and hope back to the people. Retail marketing continues to change as big box stores move the holiday season further back each year from the holiday itself.
“I think starting the Christmas season earlier each year has a tendency to take away some of the importance of the season, that’s why we try to kick off the season with this event right before Thanksgiving and Black Friday” said Horton.
Ross Seed True Value, located at 416 Choctaw Avenue has extended the event to be all day long from 8am to 7pm. There are special items and prices through out the store. Besides the items in the ad in the Washita Valley Weekly this week, there will be 75 unadvertised specials marked with red balloons when you enter the store. Also, there is a True Value flyer that has additional values in most of the Washita Valley Weekly papers. If your area did not receive a flyer, you can pick one up in the store.
Traeger Grill’s are particularly popular this time of year as much of the holiday cooking moves from the kitchen to the patio. Ross’s will have a good selection of the popular grill on hand for customers to see.
“This is a really good way to kick off the holiday season, said Horton. “This is fun and folks can find some really good bargains by shopping one block in Chickasha.”
