Betty Sue Stringfellow, a lifelong resident of Rush Springs, OK, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on October 8, 1939, to Barry and Freda (Richardson) McCafferty, Betty was a beacon of love and kindness in the community she so adored.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home, with Rev. David Hale officiating. All arrangements have been entrusted to the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services. Viewing will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home, from 12:00 PM- 8:30 PM.

A graduate of Rush Springs Public Schools, Betty’s life was marked by her devotion to family and her unwavering ability to create a warm and welcoming home. She married her beloved husband, Jack Stringfellow, and together they nurtured a family filled with love and laughter. Betty took immense joy in raising her children, Jackie Stringfellow and his wife Teresa of Rush Springs, daughters Brenda Sue Stringfellow of Texas, Loretta Irene Young of Bray, and Lisa Ferrell and her husband Tony of Duncan. Her legacy continued to grow with the birth of her five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a cherished great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Rudy McCafferty of Rush Springs, and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Lisa Ferrell, and her sisters, Dorothy Mae and Edith Faye, and her granddaughter, Jessica Dawn Young.

Those who knew Betty will remember her for her loving nature, her friendly demeanor, and her kind heart. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life: taking care of her kids, working in her house, spending time with her extensive family, tending to her garden, cooking, and taking care of her chickens.

Betty’s presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her life’s story is one of enduring love and gentle strength, a narrative that will be fondly recounted by friends and family for generations to come.
