The funeral service for A.D. Templeton will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2024, in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be at noon in Westview Cemetery just west of Rush Springs, Oklahoma.
A.D. Templeton, 69, of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, in Lawton. He was born on September 19, 1955, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, to MSG (Retired) Arthur Dell Templeton, Jr. and Patricia Kathleen (Hindman) Templeton. A.D. graduated from Eisenhower High School in Lawton, Oklahoma, in 1973.
He began his career with the Lawton Police Department, serving from 1977 to 1989, before transitioning to the United States Marshals Service, where he worked until his retirement in 2012. A.D. married Nancy Moon in 2001 in Wichita Falls, Texas, and together they shared many cherished years.
A man of many interests, A.D. enjoyed building and creating with his hands, from construction projects to model building and painting. He had a lifelong passion for motorcycles, particularly Harley-Davidsons, and loved Motocross racing. His enthusiasm for muscle cars and classic Westerns on TV reflected his love for both speed and tradition. A rock music enthusiast, A.D. frequently attended concerts. In his younger years, he played rollerblade hockey and worked cattle—a hobby he returned to later in life.
A.D.’s adventurous spirit, his love of motorcycles, music, and the Western way of life, will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
A.D. is survived by his wife, Nancy, of the home, his five children, Adam Templeton and wife Kendi of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Ashley Templeton of Claremore, Oklahoma, Iain Templeton of Lawton, Oklahoma, Aaron Templeton of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Morrigan Templeton of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, Adrienne, Afton, Rory, and Ripley Templeton, one sister, Rita Huffman of Dripping Springs, Texas and other family members.
A.D. is preceded in death by his parents.
