Richard “Dick” Earl Miller

Richard Earl “Dick” Miller, 79, of Blanchard, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in Norman.  The son of Chester Earl Miller and Mary Cordelia (Standridge) Miller, he was born October 16, 1944, in Oklahoma City.

Although Dick was born in Oklahoma City he grew up in California.  He graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in Los Angeles.   Dick entered the United States Marine Corps just before turning eighteen.  He was a very proud Veteran and loved serving his country.  Dick spent most of his working career as an electronics technician in the oil and gas industry.  He enjoyed working on anything electronic in his spare time as well as work.  One of his sons described his dad as the most intelligent man he knew.  Dick loved learning!  He spoke almost every language there is to learn.  He mastered mathematics tests without taking the course.  He also played several instruments including the guitar, mandolin, violin, and piano.   Dick was an Assembly of God in faith.  He was a man who loved God and his family, but especially his wife.  Dick and “Baby Doll” as he affectionately called Ethel took great joy in spoiling one another.  He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dick is survived by his wife, Ethel Jeanne Miller; seven children, Bobby Miller and his wife, Christine, Scott Miller and his wife, Gidget, Lois Aldrich, Les Miller and his wife, Angela, Jada Gregory and her husband, Claude, Marilin Miller-Smith, and Rebecca Fitzgerald and her husband, Ron; twenty grandchildren, Starla, Robert Jr. “Bubba”, Hannah, Jimmy, Tawny, Preston, Skyler, Blake, Kelsey, Makenzie, Tristan, Amanda, Richard, Ryan, Jennifer, Megan, Shelby, Tristen, Joey, and Scotty; twenty-six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Linda Mello, Sue Brown, Sharon Eaton, and Cathy Hogan; three brothers, George Wright, Charles Miller, and Steve Miller; and many other loved ones and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard.  Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin.  Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.  Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
