Samuel Warren Lankister was born on May 22, 2003, in Loveland, Colorado, to Brent and
Margaret Lankister. He went to be with Jesus on September 1, 2024, in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, at the age of 21. He gave his life to Christ at Falls Creek in 2018, surrounded by people who loved him and led him to Jesus.
Samuel was a graduate of Fort Cobb–Broxton Public School in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma where he was a member of FFA, attended Caddo Kiowa Technology Center, and played baseball as well as basketball.
Upon graduation, Samuel worked as a mechanic at Hackney’s 66 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. When he was not hard at work on a motor, he could be found hunting, fishing, or spending time with his friends. Samuel could make anyone smile with his honest sense of humor and unique charm.
Samuel was a beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend. Samuel was a man of few
words, and sensitive to those he loved; he often gave practical gifts like a roll of electrical tape, or gloves. He was cherished by all who knew him.
Samuel was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dorothy Jean Lankister.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Brent and Margaret Lankister of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, sister Hannah Nickel, her husband Reed Nickel, and daughter, Jovi Nickel of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, brother Dawson Lankister, Salina Hines, their daughters Alexandria Shoopman, Desirea Shoopman, and LoraighLee Lankister of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, Grandparents Philip Lankister and wife Judy Lankister of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, and Randall and Dixie Mobley of Wasilla, Alaska, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.
A funeral service for Samuel began at 1:00 PM on September 7, 2024, at the Anadarko
High School Auditorium. He was laid to rest following the service at the Fort Cobb Cemetery in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma.
Services were under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko, Oklahoma.
