October 22, 1980 – September 12, 2024

Chickasha, OK

A funeral service for Crystal Renea Gregory-Hare, 43, of Ninnekah, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Daniel Edwards officiating.

Crystal Renea Gregory-Hare was born October 22, 1980, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Sharla Lynnette (Hawpe) Kirkland and Billy Dale Hare, Jr. Throughout her life, Crystal had many people who loved her. She considered Scott Kirkland, and Penny and Skooter Gregory as her bonus parents. She passed from this life on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Norman, Oklahoma.

Growing up she knew every tool in the toolbox and would fetch whatever her Daddy was needing and be underneath whatever he was working on figuring it out with him. She was smart and fearless.

She was a good student, always the teachers favorite, and went to School in Alex, Ninnekah, Chickasha, and Healdton, where she played track, softball, and basketball. She excelled in tumbling and gymnastics and she was fearless and a natural at it and always made it look so easy!

As the family grew, she was the best big sister and doted on her younger siblings. She was very protective of them, even as each one grew to be taller than her, Crystal could always prove that she was still the “Big” sister. She loved the water and loved to go fast, if it had wheels, she could drive it.  She enjoyed spontaneous and adventurous trips and loved nature, country living, and music.

On September 9, 2002, she married Michael Miller and she lived as a military wife, traveling all around, and for a time they were stationed in Yuma, Arizona. They moved to Ninnekah, where they worked for her Oma and Opa’s business, Bridgett Excavation and Trucking Company. Then they settled in Wanette for years before moving to Oklahoma City. She and Michael divorced in 2015. Crystal then moved back to Wanette and after her dad died in April of 2023, she spent the remainder of her life living in Ninnekah.

Crystal was very, very big-hearted, outgoing, and very outspoken. She had a “young” soul. She was a strong woman who fought her way through life and did it with grace. She was very selfless and spent many years taking care of other people, even more than she cared for herself. She adored her grandchildren and doted on them. She was excited for the new one that was on its way. Throughout the years, she made many, many friends and was a well-known and loved woman.

She was preceded in death by her Opa Billy D. Hare, Sr., Oma Eveline B. Hare, dad, Billy D. Hare, Jr., Uncle Wayne Hawpe; bonus dad Cecil Byron “Skooter” Gregory; Grandma Stella Louis Taylor and Grandpa Benny R. McKee.

Loved ones left to remember her are her daughters Kyla Gregory and significant other Cheyenne Metz of Oklahoma City and Mikayla Miller and fiancé Elijah Smith of Yukon; son Michael Miller II of Atoka; grandchildren Elijasha Smith and Elyse Smith of Yukon, and the baby girl on the way; mother Sharla Kirkland and grandmother Virginia Hawpe of Lindsay; bonus dad Scott Kirkland of Chickasha; bonus mom Penny Gregory of Dibble. As well as other extended family and many, many friends.

A viewing for Crystal will be held on Wednesday, September 18th at Ferguson Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

The interment in Ninnekah Cemetery is under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
