A new law that reduces the amount of time that Oklahoman drivers will be able to use temporary paper tags went into effect Sept. 1. The statute requires vehicles that have been purchased via private sellers or dealerships to be pre-registered within two business days.
Drivers have ten days following the purchase date to get a metal license plate with two pre-registration decals. Purchasers will still have two months to obtain the title, pay taxes and fully register the vehicle.
