Michael Joe Wilson, a devoted family man and passionate gardener, passed away on August 27, 2024, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Born on May 17, 1954, in Duncan, Oklahoma, Michael was the beloved son of Albert and Viola Wilson.
His life was a testament to hard work, love, and a deep curiosity about the world around him. Michael married his soulmate, Tammy Michelle Wilson, on November 21, 1998. Together, they created a life filled with love and joy. Michael was a dedicated husband and father, and his greatest pride was his family. He was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in gardening, maintaining a vibrant fish tank, and studying the Bible. His interests included exploring different religions, appreciating the beauty of flowers, and indulging in his favorite treats like German chocolate cake and ice cream sandwiches. He had a fondness for cowboy movies, sunsets, and cherished moments of relaxation and cuddles.
Michael’s legacy lives on through his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Tammy; his children, Terri Lee Thompson and husband Rodney, Michael Ray Wilson, Acea Tami Charlton, and husband Nathaniel, and Lisa Ann Tapia and husband Juan; and his grandchildren, Stacy Leroy Knight, Stormy Summer Knight, Serenity Elaine Thompson, Lilly Rosalee Danforth, Penelope Marie Danforth, Alanna Maribel Tapia, Juan Julian Tapia, Secillya Reign Charlton, and Estella Marguerite Mae Charlton. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Gail Figura.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Dean Wilson and Viola Violet Wilson; and his brothers, Arthur Dwayne Wilson and William Lee Wilson.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at noon on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 1321 S 12th Street, Chickasha, Oklahoma. All are welcome to join the family in honoring Michael’s memory. Food will be provided, and guests are kindly asked to RSVP and bring a dessert or beverage to share.
Michael’s memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
