The Chickasha City Council has authorized the purchase of the former Chief Fire and Safety Building at 927 South 4th to serve as a new Fire station, EMS station and a Chickasha Police Department substation. The purchase price of the property is $995,000 with $500,000 of the cost to be paid by the Grady County EMS.
This will mark a much-needed addition to fire and EMS services for the central business corridor and well as the eastern half of Chickasha. Currently fire and EMS services are located in the northwest and southwest quadrants of the city. The new station location will decrease response time for emergency calls.
