Lydia Elaine (Welcher) Robertson was born February 27, 1962 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the daughter of Melvin Lee Welcher and Marie Alta (Elliott) Story. She passed from this life Thursday, September 21, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life service for Lydia Elaine Robertson, 61, of Chickasha will be held at a later date by the family. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
Lydia grew up and attended school in Cement. She married Donald Clifford Robertson II at a young age and was a stay-at-home mom to her children.
She was a very good person and would try to help anyone, giving them anything they needed. She was fun, always had a smile on her face, was laughing and telling jokes. She enjoyed her family, spending time with them on the lake fishing or playing games. Life was an adventure for her and she enjoyed being on the go and the casino.
Lydia was preceded in death by her mother Marie Story, husband Donald Clifford Robertson II, son Donald Clifford Robertson IV, daughter Jessica Elaine Robertson and granddaughter Ashley Marie Robertson.
Lydia’s father, Melvin Welcher of Ninnekah, passed away one day after she did, leaving this world just as he was going to help with her funeral arrangements.
Loved ones left to remember her are her children Donald Clifford Robertson V, and Donald Clifford Robertson VI, Lucille Robertson, all of Chickasha; grandchildren, siblings Minnie Patton and husband Darrell of Long Grove, Melony Bunnell and husband Tracy of Chickasha, Phoebe Gibson and husband Jeff of Cyril, Christina Johnson and husband Jeremy of Duncan, Gloria Menga and husband Paul of Duncan, and Joseph Story of Duncan; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
