Karon Sue Sauer was born on June 16, 1940, in Chickasha, OK to Herman Prague and Sara Jo (Wallace) Prague. She passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023, in Norman, OK, at the age of 83. A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
Karon grew up in Chickasha, OK. She attended Chickasha High School and graduated in 1957. Karon attended OCW, Oklahoma College for Women, in Chickasha, OK.
She went on to marry Raymond Eugene Plemons and together they had three children, Drew, DeeDee, and Doug. She later married Tom Sauer in 1970 and he had three children, Curtis, Janna, and Doug. She and Tom were married for 40 years. Karon and Tom lived in Chickasha until 1981 when they moved to Oklahoma City, OK. They resided there until 1999, when they moved to Norman, OK where she lived for the rest of her life.
Karon worked for DHS and retired after 25 years of dedicated service. Tom and Karon enjoyed traveling to many places. They went to Hawaii and the Caribbean where Karon learned to scuba dive. She enjoyed gardening. She and her friend, Sally, had fun traveling together. She also loved going to her class reunions. Karon loved spending time with her family and she loved cooking. She always cooked something special for the holidays.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Sara Prague; and her husband, Tom Sauer.
Karon is survived by her son, Drew Plemons, her daughter, DeeDee Plemons, her son Doug Plemons; her stepchildren, Curtis Sauer, Doug Sauer, and Janna Wardlaw; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, William Downey Prague, as well as numerous other family and friends.
