Charles Martin Thompson was born March 7, 1950, in Chickasha, OK to Raymond Austin and Mary Jewel (Tillery) Thompson.
Charles, of Alex, OK, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022, in Alex, OK at the age of 71.
Funeral Service were held on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at the Alex High School Gym, Alex, OK. Interment will be in the Thompson Family Farm under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
Charles was born in Chickasha, OK, and was raised on his family farm in Alex, OK which he lived and farmed on his entire life. He graduated from Alex High School in 1968. Charles took over the Thompson Dairy Farm when he was 17 years old.
Charles met the love of his life, Zillah Marie (Rushing) Thompson in September of 1972, they were engaged by December and married on January 19, 1973. They had 2 sons together who they lovingly raised on the Thompson Family Farm. Charles dairyed until 1986 when he sold the dairy cattle and bought beef cattle to begin farming and ranching. In 1989 he started custom hay baling, which he did for 33 years. One of his passions was basketball which he played for many years. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandkids. He enjoyed his last days riding around the farm with his wife in his side by side Kubota.
Charles is survived by his wife, Zillah Thompson of Alex, OK sons, Brian Thompson and wife Christy of Alex, OK and Brent Thompson and wife Mindy of Alex, OK, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and all his friends from Vivian’s Café.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Jewel Thompson, brother Otis and sisters: Melba, Kay, and Ann.
