Treva Buchanan, age 42, was supported by the most incredible family her husband David Buchanan; three loving daughters: Felicity Stanley and husband Trenton Stanley, Claire Buchanan, Addison Buchanan; a bonus daughter: Julian Shelton; two grandchildren: Whitley Stanley, a bun in the oven; four bonus grandchildren: Tatum Carlisle, Dakota Shelton, Makai Shelton, Maliha Shelton; a sister: Angela Carlisle; two nephews: Trevor Carlisle, Tobey Martin; a niece: Taylor Carlisle; a brother: Robert Martin; and two loving parents: Arnold Martin (Arnie), Cynthia Hair (Grandma Kay).
Treva lived a life most only dreamed about. She met her husband in June of 1998 at a Carls Jr. in Chickasha, Oklahoma little did they know; a lifetime feud of whether the couple met in June or July would begin. Similar to that of the movies, It didn’t take David long to realize this was the women he would spend the rest of his life with. He designed an elaborate plan in August to sweep Treva off her feet only to propose early going 60 mph down I44. Soon after, you would hear their first child, felicity’s, pitter patter across the floor. The couple went on to try for a relentless 8 years, resulting in their second child Claire. Their final child, Addison, came a few years after. Through raising her family and a mind of her own, Treva has created one of the strongest foundations for her family. She provided an incredible home, a safe space for her children, and many memories along the way. One of her families’ favorite laughs being her Christmas tradition of a family ornament. It showcased just how giving Treva was by engraving everyone who stayed in the home over the Christmas holiday as a permanent member of the family. Christmas was always Treva’s favorite holiday, the tradition of taking photos with Santa stands strong in the family living room photo shelf. Treva created laughs wherever she went; her sister Angela could tell you about the holiday party where Treva once sang sexyback to an entire group of people. Her husband David could tell you about the time she programmed his siri account to call him “big sexy”. Her daughter, Felicity, could tell you about the moves she broke down at her wedding with her lips all puckered up. Her grandchild, Whitley, could tell you about the countless mornings mawmaw would spend eating breakfast before daycare. These memories are an example of the Caring, Giving, strong foundation Treva was for her family.
Thomas Campbell once said “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die”. Treva will be forever living in our hearts.
