Funeral services for William Arno Green, 91, of Oklahoma City, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.
William Arno Green was born August 13, 1930 in Seward, Oklahoma to James C. Green and Mattie Pearl (Hornsby) Green. He died at his home in Oklahoma City on Thursday, October 14, 2021.
On February 24, 1950, he married Frances Lasenberry in Wichita Falls, Texas. They settled in the Chickasha area. They shared over 71 years together.
William was drafted into the United States Army in 1952 and he also served in the Air Force for a total of over 35 years of military service as a Senior Master Sergeant. After discharge he received a diploma from Seminary and pastored at 4 different churches for over 25 years. He enjoyed fixing up old cars, reading westerns, camping, and solving Sudoku puzzles. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by both parents, a young daughter Susan Annies Green, brother James Wesley Green, sister Earleen Blacksher, and half-brothers Terrel Grogan and James Grogan.
Survivors include his wife Frances Green of the home; daughter Karen Payne; grandson Johnathan Payne; granddaughter Jennifer Neely and spouse Stephen Neely; and great-grandchildren Jackson Neely and Dorothy Neely.
Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
