OBITUARIES

Austin Joseph Fox

August 15, 2002 – October 5, 2020

On August 15, 2002, a sweet baby boy was born in Ukraine. In March of 2004 he came to the United States to live with his adoptive parents, Michelle and Burke Fox, and his sister, Leeza.

He grew up and attended schools in the Fort Worth Area. As he grew, he participated in various sports, settling on gymnastics while in junior high. He continued his love for gymnastics while in high school at Boswell High and for a time after his move to Colorado Springs. He tried out and was accepted to take lessons at the Olympic Training Center at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

Austin came to Chickasha in April of 2019 to live with his grandparents, Gary and Dorothy Grisham. He attended Chickasha High School his junior and senior years, playing football his junior year, a sport he had always wanted to play, but mama bear wouldn’t allow.

In the summer of 2019, he attended Falls Creek Baptist Assembly, a church camp for youth, where he made his public profession of his faith in Christ. He was a member of and attended First Baptist Church in Chickasha.

Austin didn’t know a stranger and made a plethora of friends in Texas, Colorado, and Oklahoma. While life guarding for the Chickasha YMCA this past summer, he met his girlfriend Kailey and the two became inseparable.  They loved each other dearly and they stuck by each others sides through thick and thin.

Austin left this Earth on October 5th, 2020, and joined his mom in Heaven. Austin’s kind heart reflected in many ways, as he literally gave his friends the shirts off his back and continued this generosity by becoming an organ donor and saving several lives through his death.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Michelle Fox, his grandparents, Bonnie and Charles Rowe, and his great grandmother, Virginia Blanchard.

Austin leaves behind his father, Burke  Fox, sister, Leeza Fox, grandparents, Gary and Dorothy Grisham, aunts, Shannon Wyatt and Kathryn Grisham Winfrey, uncle Matt Grisham, cousins, Lyndsey and Taylor Wyatt, Brantlee Wright, Ava and Ryan Winfrey, Lily and Jayson Grisham, his girlfriend Kailey Gordon, and many other friends.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 10th, at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Chickasha.
