Washington, D.C. –Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) released the following statement after President Biden announced a “border crackdown” executive order:
 “Three and a half years ago, President Biden assumed the presidency with an aggressive immigration agenda. He took 94 executive actions in just his first 100 days in office, including removing Title 42 and Remain in Mexico, halting border wall construction, and reinstating Catch-and-Release, all in an attempt to make it easier for immigrants to illegally enter and stay in our nation. As expected, these calculated actions have resulted in a raging illegal immigration disaster, creating a serious national security crisis and giving the cartels free rein to push deadly fentanyl into every community throughout the United States,” said Congressman Cole.
 “Now, just three weeks before the presidential debate, President Biden has finally decided to address this self-made border catastrophe. However, this announcement is not enough, as it does nothing to end Catch-and-Release, nothing to reinstate Remain in Mexico, and nothing to deport the massive surges of illegal migrants who have already poured into our nation. This is simply a band-aid solution for a very serious border crisis, and the American people who are bearing the brunt of his wide-open border policies will see right through it,” said Congressman Cole.
