Help me!!
When you say “help me”, there is an indication that you are going to do something. But if I call you and ask you to come help me move my piano out of the living room, what if when you show up to “help me”, I just lay on the couch sipping ice tea, and flip through the tv channels; I don’t get up; I just lay there and watch you move the piano for me. If I react in this manner, I need to change what I asked you to do from “help me” to “would you do it for me”?
Many Christians try this same thing on God. They don’t really want God to help them. They just want God to do it for them. There is a popular saying that’s been going around for some time in Christian circles that says, “just turn loose and let God do everything”. This saying is basically “no fault” religion and says that God is in control and responsible for everything. This is absolutely not true.
God is only responsible for what He said He would do. YOU are responsible for what God told YOU to do. It’s time for Christians to stop being freeloaders and start being “Doers of the Word”!!!
