OPINION

Common or Precious

I was reading Acts chapter 10 and in verse 15, the voice of Jesus spoke to Peter and said, “What God hath cleansed, that call not common.” That verse really touched my heart and I read it over and over. Then I realized if it’s not to be called “common”, what should you call it? How about “precious”?
When God cleans something or someone it is no longer common but becomes precious. As when a person, no matter what nation or denomination they are, gets born again and is cleansed by the blood of Jesus, they become precious to God. If they are precious to God, shouldn’t they also be precious to each of us as the body of Christ??
Peter said “Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of Persons: But in every nation he that feareth Him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with Him. Being made in God’s image, maybe we should be like Him and stop being a respecter of persons. Maybe we all need to work together on our reverence to God and work with the righteousness given to us by what Jesus did for us on the cross.
If we can be accepted by God, why in the world can’t we be accepted by one another?
I would like to encourage all of you to be in one accord with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Let us work together to be good witnesses for Christ; let us all pray together that the demonic forces that fight against all of our churches be defeated; whatever we do, let us do it with Love for our Savior and each other. As the old song goes, “If you don’t love your neighbor then you don’t love God”.
Have a blessed day in His Word, Love, and Power
