William F. “Butch” Baker

A memorial service for William F. “Butch” Baker, 78, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.

William Frederick Baker, known to all as Butch, was born December 30, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri to Charles Henry Baker, Jr. and Frances Wilma Lee (Heitman) Baker. He passed from this life on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Butch grew up in the Fleming and Orrick, Missouri area and attended Orrick schools. He was raised by his mom and dad, William Nelson Butler.

As a young man, he worked with his dad in the fields on the family farm. He worked for the Mt. Washington Cemetery for a bit.

He married Brenda and to this union, his daughter Christy was born.

Butch started working at Fairmont Dairy, where he worked his way to being a truck driver for the dairy, retiring after 38 years.

On August 27, 1983, he married Dana Elizabeth Romo and they shared 41 years. He was a wonderful father to her children and took them as his own.

He loved to joke around and play pranks. He had a playful nature and loved children. Butch was a loving husband and a caring man. He loved all his family and will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Baker; mother Wilma Butler and dad William Butler; and one brother Steven Butler.

Loved ones left to remember him are his wife Dana of the home; daughter Christy Hardister of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter Crystal Wooters of Chickasha; son Billy Dodd of Ninnekah; sisters Betty Rathbun of Independence, Missouri, Bertha Todd of Richmond, Missouri, and Cathy Mercer of Joplin, Missouri; grandchildren Michael, Tanner, Gavin, Madison, Paige, Heather, Destiny, Hagen, and Heaven; great-grandchildren Houston, Lilly, Samuel, Raziel, Adam, Brynlee, and Brooklyn; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.

Cremation services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
