A memorial service for Norman Crispin Wood, 72, of Verden, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Alan Verser officiating.

Norman Crispin Wood was born October 11, 1951 in Seattle, Washington to Crispin Melton Wood and Mary Alvalyn (Norman) Wood. He passed from this life on January 9, 2024 at his home in Verden, Oklahoma.

Norman’s father was in the Air Force so he grew up living in many places, one of which was Japan. He graduated from high school in Beaver Creek, Ohio and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Miami University in Ohio.

He then came to Oklahoma and worked for Dowell company for a few years and settled in Verden to farm and ranch. Norman was on the Verden School Board for over 20 years and he attended Life Church in Chickasha. He loved music and over the years he had played with several bands and loved getting together with friends to play. He loved animals and his nieces and nephews. He had 5 great-nephews and one great-niece that he called “Sugar Britches.”

He was preceded in death by both parents and his sister Karen Moran.

Loved ones left to remember him are his brother Donald Wood and wife Janice of Chickasha; and nieces and nephews Valerie Wood Choe and husband Joe, Caitlin Wood Stanton and husband Joshua, and Brendon Crispin Wood Moran, and five great-nephews, Luca Jensen Choe, Jude Lucien Choe, Bennett Joshua Stanton, Levi Jameson Stanton, and Archer Finn Stanton and one great-niece Loralei Rae Stanton and one expected in March: and several close friends.
