OBITUARIES

Nancy Carol Nichols

A funeral service for Nancy Carol Nichols, 80, of Chickasha, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Ohl officiating.

Nancy Carol Nichols was born on March 8th, 1943, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Mitchell Stallard Dyson and Eula Edith Wilkins Dyson. She went to be with the Lord on April 24, 2023 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

In her earlier years, Nancy preferred to babysit her younger siblings, cook and do housework rather than work in the cotton fields with the rest of the family.  She loved to read, although she quit school in the 8th grade and went to work at a cafe in Chickasha.  She LOVED hamburgers, the Oldies But Goodies music of the 1960s and ’70’s, loved to dance…but REALLY LOVED ELVIS PRESLEY!  She had a huge collection of his memorabilia, magazines and put together a special Scrapbook of him. Her favorite color was blue.

She worked for many years in housekeeping at an OKC hospital and later at a hospital in Anadarko, and for a short time at the Nursing Home where she lived.  She was very kindhearted and sensitive, she would help anyone.  She gave her heart to the Lord later in life and loved His Word.

Nancy was preceded in death by both parents, son Doug, and siblings, Richard Dyson, Jerry Dyson, Leon Dyson-Balies, Donnie Dyson, Shirley Hines, and Vonda White.

She leaves behind her daughter Anita Booten; son James “Jimmy” McElfresh; siblings, Eula Duncan, Linda and Jim Manlief, Judy and Greg Simmons, Johnny and Ann Dyson, Jimmie Dyson, Jeannie and Rocky Bartlett, and Lawanna Dyson and a host of loving family, nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be at Ferguson Funeral Home, Thursday April, 27. 2023 from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Services and cremation are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home,
