L.B. Carr Jr


Funeral service will be held Friday April 14, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Alex Highschool Gym. With burial to follow at Alex Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

L.B. Carr Jr passed away on April 9, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 4, 1932, in Lyndsay, OK, to Lester B. Carr Sr and Lola (Rogers) Carr. He went to grade school at Vaughan Country School until 8th grade. Then finished Highschool at Alex in 1950. L.B. met the love of his life Mary Belle (Starkey) Carr as a freshman and the two have been inseparable ever since. They married shortly after graduation. To this union they had 3 children Rodney, Kendal, and Marla. They raised their family in Alex. L.B. ran a dairy farm in Alex, OK for about 15 years until he went to farming and ranching to supplement the farm he worked for Haynes Trailers, and Grady County Road Maintenance and later he sold crop insurance and adjuster.

He coached little league baseball and never missed any of his children’s extracurricular activities. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling. His first priority was always his church (Main Street Church of Christ in Alex). He attended his church for 90 years and was a Deacon.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lester B. Carr Sr and Lola (Rogers) Carr; sister Mona Faye Prim and husband Quentin.

He is survived by his loving wife Mary Belle Carr; sons, Rodney Carr and wife Susan, Kendal Carr and wife Sheryl; daughter Marla Langford and husband Coye; precious grandchildren, Davin Carr and wife Kim, Shawna Hatchett and husband Jason, Amy Byrd and husband James, Amanda Chambers and husband Cary, Megan House and husband Tommie, Tori Byard and husband, Daniel, Janae Langford, Jared Langford and wife Kylie, Tessa Hanson and husband Josh; 17 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces nephews and church family.
