The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that Greg Wendler, 65 years of age, with residence in Chickasha, was driving a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he struck a deer. The incident happened just before 6 pm on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 on County Street 2760, 5 miles west of Norge in Grady County.
 Wendler was thrown an unknown distance and came to rest in the west ditch of County Street 2760. He was transported by Chickasha EMS to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted in critical condition with trunk internal, arm, and shoulder injuries.
 The incident was investigated by Trooper Eric Burchett #346 of the Caddo County detachment of Troop G. Assisted by Trooper Brent Tucker #775, Trooper Tyler Shelby #619 and Trooper Joshua Jackson #436. Also assisted by Pioneer Fire Dept and Chickasha EMS.
