Cyril athlete and star student Jaycee Shaffer, left, earned the SmartMoney Scholarship this week, presented by The First National Bank & Trust Co. in Cyril. Shaffer is a runner and competed in fastpitch state softball for four years. She was a state runner-up in fastpitch last year and a state finalist in the 400-meter and 800-meter relay in track. She volunteers for charity and as a math tutor. She has a strong faith and wants to be a role model, using softball for teaching character. Presenting the award is VP Bank Manager Jennifer Carlson.
